Yin Yoga encourages you to take things slow and journey inwards. This warm class is a beautifully restorative practice for the mind and the body, often with a mediation weaved into the physical practice.

With a focus on muscle relaxation, Yin Yoga works into the deep connective tissue in the body such as fascia, ligaments and tendons encouraging better hydration, ease of movement and resilience in the mind and body.  Your teacher will guide you into postures that are held for 3 to 5 minutes which gives you time to explore what your body needs in each practice.  With stillness in the body, there is a stillness that comes to the mind, soothing and releasing tension that you may not be aware of holding. 

Yin Yoga is the perfect compliment to the yang styles of Yoga. By slowing down and noticing the internal sensations we can come to understand and feel what is happening in your mind and body in your other classes.

What you will feel in this yoga

Yin yoga is a beautiful practice that helps heal our hearts and minds. Yin postures are all about release. Postures and breathwork are commonly used to manipulate the fascia — the deep connective tissues that wrap around muscle groups and individual muscles like a sleeve. It also gives us time to sit within ourselves, just be still, and listen to what our bodies and minds are telling us.
